Spring Creek Book Company publishes books for the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are interested in manuscripts that promote the gospel of Jesus Christ in a meaningful, uplifting way. We do not publish collections of poetry, short stories or family history collections. We do not publish illustrated children's books. Our main focus is on LDS-based, full-length, non-fiction books.

Non-Fiction: We are mainly looking for manuscripts that will appeal to a large percentage of LDS Church members, such as inspirational true stories.

Fiction: We are currently only publishing contemporary novels. Please do not submit your manuscript if it contains profanity or strong sexual content. We strongly suggest that if you are planning to submit a novel that you first read "Self-editing for Fiction Writers: How to Edit Yourself Into Print" by Renni Browne and Dave King. This book shares valuable principles and techniques that every novelist should understand. It is available at Amazon.com for around $10 and is worth every penny. Please note: We publish three novels per year, and all of our fiction slots are filled through 2009.

We highly recommend that the writer let someone they trust edit their manuscript for content and typos. It is hard to overlook plot holes or spelling errors. The manuscript itself is the key ingredient for us. We hope to give talented writers a chance to shine.

Do not send a full manuscript. Please do not call our office asking to speak to a member of the Editoral Board. Each manuscript/query is judged on its own merits, and speaking to an editor will not help your manuscript be accepted.

Please include the following in your query letter: your full name, address, and a brief synopis of your manuscript. Please also tell us a little bit about yourself.

If we are interested in your manuscript, we will request that you send us a full printed copy. We never accept work until we review the entire manuscript. Please allow at least two months for a response.

Always include an SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) with adequate postage.
